He was great in every war,
He lives in our heart’s core.
For good causes, he donated money,
His great tragedies always amaze me.
To conquer Kalinga, his army surrounded,
After war everywhere were dead bodies he found.
He saw people desolate,
He decided never to fight again which made him great.
He had become non violent,
He became tolerant.
Buddhism he embraced,
His wisdom was graced.
He built strong Prakrit written pillars,
These show teachings and protection from killers.
He was Ashoka – The Great,
Whom we know till date.
